Anastacia was born in Chigaco on September 17 th 1968. After her parents divorce she moved to New York with her mother and her siblings, where she visited the “Professional children school” and her qualification.
Anastacia felt ill with Crohns disease in the early age of 13 and she had a surgery which caused the big scar on her stomach. It was no easy situation for a teenager, but Anastacia learned to look at the positive aspects of her illness and she didnt hide her scar in public.
The disease helped her to find herself and to be honest with herself, says the powerful little singer today.
Anastacia grew up in a very musical family. Her mother sang at the Broadway and her father has been a singer as well. She loved to dance and started Backgrounddancing for different artists and had appearances in music videos like Salt´n Peppers “Everybody get up” and “Twist and Shout” in 1988.

It was a long way till Anastacia got her first music contract. Her exeptional voice, that didn´t fit to her appearance made it hard for her to step into the business. Most of the producers tried to change her voice and her style. She was forced to earn her money as a waitress and as a receptionist.

Her breakthrough came after an appearance at a MTV show called “MTV The Cut” in 1999, wher she performed “Not That Kind”! Anastacia didn´t win the contest, but the record labels started to run for her. She signed with Sony Epic and her first album “Not That Kind” was released in 2000.
“I´m Outta Love” became an overwhelming success and the beginning of an phenomenal career!

“Not That Kind” was followed by “Freak Of Nature” in 2002 and became a huge success as well. Anastacia won uncountable Awards and became one of the best selling artists all over Europe with a big and loyalty fanbase, who were waiting for her first concert tour.

In the beginning of 2003. The shock!

Anastacia wanted to have a breast reduction, cause of her back pain and had a mammogram during the prevention check up. The diagnosis was devastating. She had breast cancer.

Her fans were shocked and the world seemed to stop. But Anastacia refused to give in.
She did the video shooting for “Love is a crime” right before her surgery, and it was released on the Soundtrack for the movie “Chicago”.
Anastacia was back on stage with Elton John some weeks after the surgery and during her radiation treatment to show the world that she is a fighter and never give up!
She started the Anastacia Fund to raise money for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and to help other young woman to deal with the illness and to do awareness raising.

She was back in studios in the end of 2003 to record her new album “Anastacia”, which was released in March 2004 with a new style and new power... Sprock!
“Anastacia” became the best selling album in 2004 and sold over 10 Million copies.
Anastacias first public appearance in Europe at the Echo Awards 2004 in Berlin, where she performed “Heavy On My Heart” brought herself and her fans close to tears.

Anastacia is back!!!!!

And to show the world that she is back with all her power and strength... Anastacia started her first European live tour in September 2004!
“Live At Last” was sold out everywhere and became such a tremendous success that the tour continued after a short winter break in spring 2005!
“Anastacia is back... live at last”.... again a fantastic success!

Anastacia ruled the stage with her awesome voice and her way to get in connection with her fans. She created an intimate atmoshpere in all the huge venues on the tour.
Her Fanily thanked her with loyality and enthusiasm!

And it seemed like Anastacia couldn´t stop!
Not even three month after the second tour leg she was back for an open air european summer tour!
“The Encore Tour” delighted the audience with a changed show, some new songs and Anastacia on her best!!!

Her first Greatest Hits Album “Pieces Of A Dream” was released in November 2005, included four brand new songs and Anastacia was back in Europe again for doing a lot of promotion.

Her self announced musical break for 2006 didn´t stop her to be present in Europe to promote her duet “I Belong To You” with italian singer Eros Rammazotti, which became her first number one hit in Germany ever!

And there was no need for her fans to give the hope up to see her on stage.
She hit the stage in February 2006 for the Olympic Winter Games in Torino and sprocked the Diesel Fashion Show at the Life Ball 2006 in Vienna, followed by two concerts in Denmark and Lisbon in June.

Anastacia´s first clothing line in combilation with s.Oliver was launched in August 2006 and was celebrated with a roadshow through different german cities and Austria, to give her fans the opportunity to be part of it and to celebrate with their idol. “Anastacia by s.Oliver” became a big success all over Germany and Anastacia succeeded to live her passion for music and fashion simultanously.
Her first self created perfume was launched in November 2006. “Resurrection” units Anastacia´s personal notes and reflects her unique character not only in the name.  
After all this success in her business life, Anastacia withdrew herself out of the spotlight in the beginning of 2007 and got married to her bodyguard Wayne Newton in April. They worked together since her comeback in early 2004.

Anastacia is now writing and recording her new album. She left Sony and switched over to Universal Music to follow David Massey, who signed her to her first contract with Sony. David Massey is now president of Island Records and Mercury Records, which is part of the Universal Music Group.  Her fans can look forward to new sprock-spirit music from the little woman with the big voice in the end of the year 2008!
